Vermont’s Arts and Entertainment newspaper, the ‘Seven Days’
[Vermont's Independent Voice] wrote the following about SB’s visit to town,

“Sarah Blacker is an old soul in a modern woman’s body… fans and music scribes up and down the Eastern seaboard swoon to her sultry, emotionally charged music. One crit even mused that Blacker is “the perfect blend of Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell.” …there are good reasons Blacker inspires fawning hyperbole.”

The Skinny Pancake, in Burlington, VT where SB + All Kinds of Sugar performed on Saturday, wrote this about the music.

SB recently visited 88.9 WERS FM studios in Boston, and Jake Sorgen, who conducted the interview, captured the essence of SB’s career as a singer/songwriter, as well as in Music Therapy.
      He wrote: “Blacker’s conversational style flows very much like her music. She goes from being jovial to producing intriguing—almost meditative statements like the one above with poetic ease. Her insight and interest in the transformative power of music, which she has gained through her work as a music therapist, is always present in her lyrics.”

The New Album is coming right along! We’re very excited to share the 12 songs with you come late fall! Drums have been tracked by the amazing, Michael Calabrese on 4 songs so far,
(’Come What May,’ ‘Knocked the Winds,’ ‘Friend,’ and ‘Drivin’)
and next up, we’ll be heading into the studio with Session Americana to record, ‘Cowboy!’

Just two more Tuesdays at TOAD in Cambridge, MA and then my month-long residency concludes itself.

Here’s a home-video/song I just wrote today … It really is sad to me that more people aren’t empowered to follow their dreams. The world is a mess right now. War, fighting, desperation, prostitution, drug and people abuse, political mayhem, economical mayhem, technological advancement, failing healthcare, and natural disasters. It’s hard to stay positive, but if we can all just operate on a level of compassion, honesty, patience and of course creativity… We can at least help inspire others to do the same.

The Macon, GA ‘Telegram’ recently stated, “Sarah Blacker, of Boston, has a fresh, crisp sound distinctive from the sea of a-girl-and-her-guitar acts. Blacker comes in a diminutive package but her skills on guitar, mandolin and djembe are anything but small.”

…and the Wilmington, NC ‘Star News’ chose SB’s recent show as one of their Top Local Events and called her music, “finger-picked folk tunes that are at once melancholy and sweet.”
