Co-Hosting WMBR / Fundraising for Video Project / Song-a-Day

I’m super excited to be co-hosting MIT’s WMBR 88.1 FM Radio with Joe G on his show ‘Droppin’  Knowledge’ on Thursday’s from 4-5:30 pm whenever I’m in town!

This week’s guest is a good friend of mine, and a super talented dude, Jake Hill!
[click here to listen online] We’ll be talking about my toe, and I’ll be singing one with him too!

My 2012 Resolutions are mostly private, but the one I’m happy to share with you is to make more Music Videos!!! It’s for this reason that I am releasing my
BRAND NEW EP, ‘Perfectly Imperfect,’ exclusively online to raise money for making videos. To find out how you can get a copy of this new EP and other awesome goodies, check out the VIDEO PROJECT and get yourself some new music, a private guitar or songwriting lesson, or even a house concert!

In other news, I’ve embarked on a ‘Demo-a-Day’ project for as long as I can manage. I started Dec 21st, and have only taken 2 days off since I cut my toe off… but I’m getting back at it later today!

Here are some *free downloads* for you of song #7 and song #9 and also a free download of my cover of
Tom Petty’s ‘Don’t Fade on Me’ which I played live at a Tribute in Somerville a few weeks back.

…and how’s about a video of ‘Into the Great Wide Open’ feat. Alison Shipton on fiddle? xo.

York Dispatch, the Fly, Boston Globe, BBC

This past weekend in Central PA was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. From video interviews, documentary tapings and Chinese food, to songs about chainsaw injuries, Stephen King, and some of the most captive audiences I’ve ever met.
Thank you to everyone at My Rural Radio for making it all happen.
Stay tuned for videos from the Boondocks Club, and also Bistro 19 in York.
*also check out my facebook page for awesome photos taken by Matt Davis, and more.

While in PA, Randy from the York Dispatch met with Mike Males from
My Rural Radio and I to do a video segment titled,
‘York Online Radio Station Hits Big’ on what it all means. Check out the video of our goofy jingle, and some of ‘I’m Like a Train, My Lord,’ and more right here

the Fly Magazine, a Central PA nightlife newspaper did a nice write-up about my show/live documentary taping at the Boondocks Club in York Haven, PA.
They said, “Quirky, catchy songwriting, accomplished instrumentation and an alto twang that rides the pendulum seamlessly between tender lullabies and full-blown rock songs.” …Thanks mucho guys.

In other news, last night was an AMAZING show at the Middle East Upstairs for Patrick Coman’s song series, ‘For the Sake of Song.’ This series, typically held at the Armory in Somerville, was a fundraiser for Music Drives Us, Ernie Boch Jr.’s foundation to raise funds to provide music to children in need, for which I’m an Ambassador. stay tuned for awesome videos and photos from the event. I performed, ‘Old Man,’ and ‘A Man Needs a Maid,’ and I think they’ll be added to live show repertoire… yessir.

The Boston Globe previewed the show. To read the entire article, click here

The awesome Boston music blog, Boston Band Crush, also wrote about the show and said, “Sarah’s combination of astoundingly beautiful voice and playful stage persona is sure to win over any listener still capable of being moved by the art of music. After a Sarah Blacker performance you just can’t help be feel a little bit better about being alive.” Thanks guys :]
