Artist of the Year/ Tri-state Indie/ Noise Cover/ MassMic

We had so much fun on our southern tour, sold out of our hand-made jewelry, presented many unsuspecting new friends with ‘Crazy Pills,’ and I even won ‘Artist of the Year‘ at the My Rural Radio Fall Fest III! I got an awesome LED light-changing trophy that took about 1 hour and 4 people to set up once we returned from tour…! At least it didn’t break in our new tour Prius, James.

Tri-State Indie wrote about the festival, Sarah Blacker is a star.  Never heard of her?  Listen once and you will never forget her.  She received the MyRuralRadio Artist of the Year Award that night and played an achingly beautiful set.  She writes poignant songs that speak simply and honestly and wow, can she strum a guitar.” thanks guys!

Here are a couple of our pics from the tour. To see more, visit SB’s facebook page

Upon returning from tour, someone handed me a copy of Boston’s Music Magazine, the Noise, and showed me my photo on the cover! There’s really no better way to return home than this:

SB on the cover!

after being last month’s Big Shot! in the Noise too. Rita and Lolita from the noise said, “Each of the artists on the cover deserves to be dominating the page. These performers are already local stars.”

Thanks Noise Magazine!

BBC / Beasley + Southern CD Release Tour

SB’s song, ‘Come What May’ was recently reviewed by Boston Band Crush’s online blog in honor of her inclusion in this year’s
New England Americana Festival on Friday, April 1st.

“the qualities of her voice create a situation where the listener is almost magnetically and inexorably drawn to continue listening to the track…she sings her way around corners and through tiny spaces under chairs and tables. Blacker is like the mouse that appears out of nowhere and leads you on a chase through sections of your house you didn’t even know existed.”

Beasley, SB’s black lab and touring companion/best friend is ‘Pet of the Month’ in April’s Boston music rag, the Noise.
